Frequently Asked Questions

Before your Appointment

Do I need a consultation before booking?

1

A separate consultation is not required, but highly encouraged if you have a history of allergic reactions, are new to lash extensions, or have a specific request. A brief consultation gives your artist time to understand your goals, lifestyle and preferences so we can tailor the perfect look for you.

During the consultation, your artist will:

  • Review any allergy history and previous lash experience to ensure safety and comfort.

  • Discuss your daily routine and desired maintenance level to recommend the most suitable lash type, length, and curl.

  • Evaluate your features, hair strength and skin type to design a style that enhances your features.

  • Address any specific requests and explain what to expect during and after the appointment.

Booking a consultation helps avoid surprises and ensures efficient, confident service on the day of your appointment. It’s quick, informative, and the best way to get exactly the results you want with peace of mind. We highly encourage it for first-timers, sensitive clients, and anyone with a specific vision.

How long do appointments take?

3

Service times vary by type and technician level. Brow appointments typically take 30 minutes. Lash lift and tint appointments take 45-60 minutes. Half and full sets of extensions take 1-2.5 hours. Fills take 1-2 hours. Timing details are listed with each service.

What should I do before my appointment?

4

Please arrive with a cleansed treatment area, free of makeup, oils or any heavy skincare. Doing so will reduce service prep time and allot more time for application or treatment.

Yes. We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early to check in and settle in. If you have a 10:00 AM appointment and arrive earlier, our team will welcome you in during opening procedures. Visit our “Getting Here” page for specific details.

We do our best to accommodate late arrivals when possible. However, arriving late may result in a shortened service or rescheduling to ensure a seamless experience for all guests.

Lash Lift Services

What is a lash lift?

1

A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that gently reshapes your natural lashes from base to tip, creating a lifted, curled appearance that opens the eye and enhances length without extensions.

The process uses a mild perming solution and a silicone mold to set the lift, often paired with a tint to darken lashes and increase definition; results typically last 6–8 weeks depending on your natural lash growth cycle.

It’s low-maintenance—no daily curling needed—and ideal for clients seeking a natural, wide-eyed look with minimal aftercare. A patch test and consultation are recommended to ensure this service best suits your preferences.

What are the lash lift procedural steps?

2

A 30 minute lash lift begins with a gentle lash cleanse to remove oils and makeup, followed by placing a flexible, silicone rod or shield along the lash line of the eyelid. Lashes are then styled and adhered to the silicone rod or shield.

Solution is then applied to the natural lashes to soften the lash structure to adopt the shape of the mold. After the solution processes, it’s removed and a second solution is applied to set and lock the new lash shape in place.

Results require a full 24 hours to properly set in place. During this time, lashes must remain dry, away from humidity and extreme temperatures.

What products do you use for a lash lift?

3

DC Lash Bar partners with international, industry leader, Elleebana to incorporate their award-winning professional products and training programs in house.

Their science-backed, innovative formulas paired with certified trainings ensure superior lash lifts, tints and aftercare using formulas trusted worldwide.

Through this collaboration our artists receive advanced, hands-on education in Elleebana techniques and safety standards, allowing us to deliver consistently long-lasting, natural-looking results while maintaining the highest hygiene and client care protocols.

Are there different solution options?

4

Elleebana offers two, science-backed, professional lash lift systems for use in different scenarios.

One Shot is the original lift system used by DC Lash Bar since inception. It is ideal for guests with normal to coarse lash hairs. It is particularly effective at softening coarse lash hairs with speed and reliability.

Profusion powers our new Vegan Lash Lifts, ideal for fine or previously treated lashes. Profusion’s thioglycolate-free formula gently lifts the lashes over a longer processing time. The slower processing time allows more time dedicated to styling and reduces risks of lash damage due to over processing.

DC Lash Bar carries over 10 sizes of lash molds to cater to varying eye shapes, lash lengths and desired results.

Shapes fall into two main categories. A rod is a cylinder shape and produces a rounded “C” curl, while a shield is flatter to produce a “L” curl or a “straight-up” lift. Each are available in sizes XS - XL to accommodate different lash lengths.

Work with your lash artist to choose the right mold for your lashes.

Lash Extensions

What are eyelash extensions?

1

A lash extension is a synthetic replica of an eyelash. Lash stylists choose from thousands of extensions that vary in length, weight and curl to create your custom lash look. Start by booking a service based on our reference styles and work with your lash artist to customize it to your liking.

What is the required maintenance for lash extensions?

2

Extension looks require the commitment of daily care and maintenance visits for long term upkeep. Extensions shed at the same rate as a natural lash cycle. Therefore, Classic, Hybrid and Volume styles require maintenance visits every two to three weeks. During these maintenance visits, artists replace outgrown extensions and apply extensions to new lash growth.

Who is best suited for lash extensions?

3

While semi-permanent, retention is heavily dependent on a variety of factors. Retention is heavily sensitive to temperature, altitude, seasons and friction from activities such as exercise and sleep positions. Consultations with lash extension artists are required for new guests to rule out skin sensitivities to extension adhesive.

How long do lash extension looks last?

4

Refills are offered to accommodate the varying retention and schedules of DC Lash Bar guests. Since lifestyle and conditions vary widely, a consultation with your artist is highly recommended to choose the type of maintenance best suited for maximum upkeep of your lash look.

Get a lash look that can’t be achieved with mascara or lash curling tools. Extensions give the appearance of longer, darker and curled lashes. Lash looks can drastically change the overall face, providing proportionate balance and symmetry. Lash looks last up to 6 weeks, so you can wake up ready each and every day.

Why get lash extensions?

5

Why are lash extensions so costly?

6

Quality lash extension results require extensive investments in professional trainings, skill development, testing and research to maintain service quality and safety. Prices reflect the upfront resources in artistry training and continued learning and development in artist’s careers. Demand for artist’s services rise with the proficiency of their craft. As such, service prices reflect an artist’s demonstrated skill level and reward their commitment to continuous development at any level.
